Most uPVC windows are mechanically joined: the mullions and transoms are screwed together. As frames expand and contract, those joints can open hairline gaps, and capillary action draws water inside the frame, where you can’t see it and where it can reach the steel. APS welds the whole window into one continuous structure, one of the few double glazing companies in Australia to do so. You won’t see the difference on day one. You will years down the track.
Frame, mullions and transoms are hot-plate welded into one continuous structure. No screws. No mechanical joins.
The glazing rubber is welded into one unbroken seal around the glass, not separate strips that meet at the corners.
The beads holding the glass sit inside your home. They can’t be removed from outside, and they stay out of the sun, so they don’t shrink back at the corners.
Galvanised steel runs through every frame and sash, not partial reinforcing. Kept dry inside a sealed, welded frame.
It’s not just about the glass. It’s how the whole window is engineered, manufactured and installed.

The most sustainable window is one you only fit once. APS frames are built for a 30+ year service life, and the uPVC can then be recycled up to 10 times: cleaned, shredded and turned into granulate for new profiles.
In the factory, dedicated recycling stations sort uPVC offcuts, glass, steel reinforcement, aluminium and packaging. Our profiles are 100% lead-free, and making them in Victoria avoids international freight emissions.

Yes. Two panes of glass with a gap between them disrupt sound waves, and airtight welded frames stop the whistling and rattling that coastal wind causes in older windows.
