    Policy Statement

    APS Double Glazing Pty Ltd is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our employees, customers, visitors and the community, both in our Kilsyth factory and on every installation site.

    Our installations are carried out by our own employed and trained installers. On every job, our team will:

    • assess the site for hazards before starting work;
    • use safe lifting, handling and transport methods for glass, frames and doors;
    • use appropriate equipment and controls when working at heights;
    • use power tools safely and keep them in good working order;
    • stop work and follow correct procedures if suspected asbestos or other hazardous materials are found;
    • keep work areas clearly separated from occupants, children and pets;
    • secure the site and remove waste at the end of each day; and
    • follow any site safety requirements set by builders or principal contractors.

    Management Responsibilities

    Management is accountable for implementing this policy. This includes:

    • maintaining an effective OHS management system;
    • ensuring policies and procedures are implemented and followed;
    • providing adequate resources to meet our safety commitments;
    • ensuring employees are competent, licensed and inducted;
    • setting measurable safety objectives aimed at eliminating work-related injury and illness;
    • conducting regular inspections and audits of the factory, vehicles and installation sites; and
    • investigating incidents and near misses and acting on the findings.

    Employee Responsibilities

    All employees must:

    • take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others;
